Back by popular demand, the redeveloped LMA Certificate Course provides a comprehensive introduction to the syndicated loan market,
Guiding delegates through the full lifecycle of loan transactions and the evolving market landscape.
Over three days, delegates will take a high-level look at the full spectrum of the syndicated loan market including products, market segments, key participants, transaction processes, documentation, regulation and more.
Facilitated by Yolanda Clatworthy and featuring a series of guest speakers representing a wide range of market participants, the course uses practical case studies and interactive exercises to connect theory with real-world application, creating a structured learning journey from foundational concepts to more advanced market dynamics.
By completing this course, delegates will be able to:
- Identify the key products, participants, market segments, documentation and transaction stages that underpin the syndicated loan market.
- Differentiate between the principal lending markets, transaction structures and stakeholder roles encountered in loan market transactions.
- Apply core loan market concepts to practical transaction scenarios, including product selection, documentation, pricing and transaction management considerations.
- Evaluate the influence of market developments, lender evolution, technology, intercreditor issues, portfolio management, secondary trading and regulation on loan market activity.

The LMA Certificate Course will be delivered in London between:
09:00 – 17:00 on 24-26 November 2026.
This course is fully catered, including a light breakfast, cold lunch plus hot/cold drinks and refreshments during breaks. If you have any dietary requirements please let us know when you complete the registration form.
There will also be networking drinks on:

Delegates will be sent the course materials before the live sessions and provided access to the assessment platform on the final day. For those delegates that wish to sit the exam, they will be expected to do so within one month of completing the course (26th December) – course certificates will be issued following successful completion of the exam. For those NOT sitting the exam a Certificate of Attendance is available on request, subject to minimum attendance requirements (80%).

For security reasons, delegates who have not registered in advance will not be admitted to the sessions.
Who should study the programme?
The programme is ideal for those who are new to the syndicated loan market, have recently moved into a related role, or wish to develop a more holistic understanding of how loan transactions are originated, structured, documented, distributed, administered and managed throughout their lifecycle
It is particularly suited to people working in banks, institutional investors, private credit firms, law firms, advisory businesses, corporate treasury teams, agency functions and market infrastructure providers.
Assessment
The exam consists of 50 multiple choice questions which candidates have two hours to complete. To pass, candidates must answer a minimum of 30 questions correctly (60%), with a score of 45 or more earning a distinction (90%).
This course is certified by the Loan Market Association and accredited by CPD® Certification Service.
