Note to Members

As we head into the summer break and temperatures begin to rise again, this will be the final edition of the Regulatory Insights before our August pause.

With the 11 July 2026 grandfathering cut-off date for Article 21c of CRD VI now behind us, members may also wish to revisit the LMA’s practical guidance and related resources on cross-border corporate lending, which remain available on our website here.

June was another busy month for the LMA’s regulatory team. We met with a range of stakeholders in Brussels, Rome and Luxembourg to discuss our key priorities. The EU securitisation file continues to gather pace, with the new Irish Presidency signalling its ambition to move quickly. We expect the coming months to be particularly “trilogue-heavy”, including on both securitisation and the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation.

We are also looking ahead to the European Commission’s report on the competitiveness of the EU banking sector, expected on 17 July. We will host a Member Briefing Call on 20 July to discuss the key takeaways and implications.

Finally, it was a pleasure to see so many of our members at our European Conference in Milan last month. Among the many excellent discussions, the panel on non-bank financial institutions, private credit and defence lending stood out as a particular highlight. We look forward to continuing those conversations at our upcoming dinner roundtable with the Bank of England.

Have a wonderful summer, and we look forward to reconnecting in September!
